Project Summary

LAND Remediation, Inc. (LRI) was awarded a second contract at this site to build on earlier bulkhead installation and remediation efforts. This phase focused on site-wide demolition and preparing the 18.3-acre industrial waterfront parcel for future development, including a new ferry terminal at Barnum Landing.

The terminal will provide safer, expanded service between Bridgeport and Port Jefferson, New York, improving transportation options for the local community. LRI’s work included removing existing concrete foundations, installing approximately 3,000 linear feet of HDPE drainage pipe, and constructing a bioretention basin for stormwater management. All conforming material generated during earlier various project stages were reused on site.

In addition, LRI imported and placed more than 36,000 tons of clean fill to raise the site grade and cap the area.
