Project Summary

Land Remediation, Inc. (LRI) was selected to install 1,000 LF of new steel sheet pile bulkhead and anchor wall, an essential milestone enabling the development of East Newark’s long-planned waterfront park.

Working closely with AECOM, LRI value-engineered and revised the sheet pile design, significantly reducing lead times and installation costs. The bulkhead installation laid the foundation for transforming a once-industrial stretch of riverfront into a safe, accessible, and vibrant community space. The new 5-acre park provides public access to the Passaic River, offering green space, recreational areas, and a pedestrian connection that enhances quality of life for residents.

By protecting and improving shoreline resilience, this project ensures the park will serve as a lasting asset for neighborhood revitalization for years to come.
