LAND Remediation, Inc. served as the remedial construction teaming partner for the full design, permitting, and execution of remediation at the CHGE Former Kingston MGP Site. The project involved both upland and in-river work and was completed under a coordinated regulatory framework involving NYSDEC and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Upland activities included the in-situ solidification (ISS) of approximately 20,000 CY of MGP-impacted soils. Simultaneously, a 450 LF permanent steel bulkhead was installed along the shoreline, enabling containment and structural support for subsequent river-based activities. In-river work featured the installation of over 2,000 LF of temporary steel cofferdams to isolate remediation zones in a sensitive aquatic environment. Approximately 25,000 CY of contaminated sediment were dredged and processed on-site for Subtitle D landfill disposal. In support of the dredging operation, LAND established navigational bypasses, demolished a former dry dock structure, and coordinated work within strict ecological fish breeding windows for innovative fish habitat improvements. Specialized operations also included diver-assisted hydraulic sediment removal to facilitate gas main crossings, followed by installation of a composite subaqueous cap.
Showcased LRI’s multi-disciplinary expertise by blending sheeting, dredging, bulkhead installation, and ISS services into a seamless, start-to-finish solution
