Project Summary

LAND Remediation, Inc. (LRI) was contracted to install four foundations to support two new 225 ft tall steel monopole wishbone transmission towers, replacing the existing 207 ft steel lattice towers at the Z1 and Y2 river crossings. Each tower base measured approximately 55×38.5 ft. Two foundations were constructed using 32 ft diameter, rock-anchored concrete caissons, while the other two were 30 ft diameter concrete pile caps supported by 160 ft long driven H-piles.

To perform deep excavation into weathered rock, LRI designed and installed a slide rail shoring system that allowed safe and efficient access. The team installed drilled rock anchors for load resistance and constructed cast-in-place concrete foundations. This critical infrastructure project was completed under challenging site access conditions and tight utility coordination windows.
